If you're looking for a bra for shoulder pain, you probably already know that wearing a traditional bra can be uncomfortable — and sometimes simply getting one on can be the hardest part.

Why Can Traditional Bras Be Uncomfortable on Painful Shoulders?
Most traditional bras are built around a familiar structure:
cups + underband + shoulder straps + fasteners.
For women with shoulder pain, there can be two separate problems.
1. Getting the bra on
Reaching behind your back, manipulating hooks, or twisting and turning to get into a front-opening bra can become difficult when shoulder movement is restricted.
2. Wearing it
Once it's on, conventional straps can create pressure over an already uncomfortable or sensitive shoulder.

Do Wider Bra Straps Really Solve Shoulder Pain?
Wider or padded straps may feel more comfortable for some women, but they still use the shoulders as part of a traditional bra's support structure.
For women whose shoulders are already painful, injured or have restricted movement, another question may be worth asking:
Can I choose a bra that relies less on conventional shoulder straps in the first place?
