Breast Cancer Is Behind Me...

Finding a Comfortable Bra Isn't.

For the women who finished treatment months, years or even decades ago... but still haven't found a bra they're comfortable wearing.

If you've searched for a comfortable bra after breast cancer, you're far from alone. Whether you've had a lumpectomy, mastectomy, reconstruction or radiation treatment, changes to your body can make bras that once felt comfortable almost impossible to wear.

"I Thought Once My Treatment Was Over... Everything Would Go Back To Normal."

For many women, it doesn't.

The surgeries are over.

The chemotherapy has finished.

The radiation appointments are behind you.

The hospital visits become less frequent.

Life slowly starts moving forward again.

Friends and family celebrate because you've beaten breast cancer.

But every morning...

You open your underwear drawer.

And you're reminded that one small part of your life still hasn't returned to normal.

Finding a bra that feels comfortable.

For some women it's been months.

For others it's been years.

For many of the women we meet in our Perth store...

It's been decades.

If that's your story...

You're not alone.

Why Are So Many Women Still Looking For A Comfortable Bra Years Later?

Quick Answer

Many women continue to experience discomfort long after breast cancer treatment because surgery can permanently change the shape of the breasts, leave scar tissue, create sensitivity around lymph node removal, and make traditional bras uncomfortable. The right bra won't change what you've been through, but it may help make everyday life more comfortable.

Can I Wear A Normal Bra After Breast Cancer?

Quick Answer

Many women do. Others discover that bras they wore before treatment no longer feel comfortable because their body has changed. There isn't one correct answer. The right bra is simply the one that feels comfortable for your body today.

We Hear The Same Story Almost Every Day

Many women visit our Hillary's store thinking they're the only one still struggling.

They tell us things like...

"I've bought so many bras."

"My breast care bra sits in the drawer because I hate wearing it."

"Everything rubs my scars."

"The surgeon left my side boob."

"Every bra makes me sweat."

"One breast is smaller now and nothing fits."

"I just want to wear a bra without thinking about it."

Almost every woman believes she's the only one.

She's not.

Why Do Bras Still Hurt Years After Breast Cancer Surgery?

Quick Answer

Even years after breast cancer treatment, many women continue to experience sensitive scar tissue, changes in breast shape, nerve sensitivity and discomfort around the chest or underarm. Women who have had breast reconstruction may also find that changes in breast shape, firmness or symmetry mean bras they once wore comfortably no longer fit in the same way. Bras that fitted comfortably before surgery may no longer suit the body's new shape or sensitivity.

What Our Customers Say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I have had many chest and breast surgeries and have scarring as well as different sized breasts. I have never worn a more comfortable bra. I used to rip a normal bra off in my car on the way home because it was so uncomfortable, but now I wear yours all day. I cannot thank you enough. It's life changing."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"It is the first time I really feel comfortable using a bra. I have lots of lumps in my breasts and this is the most comfortable bra ever. No pain!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"the MOST COMFORTABLE bra I've ever owned. I've had multiple breast surgeries including 2 reconstructions on the same breast and these are the only bras I can wear that don't hurt."

Why Do So Many Breast Cancer Bras Feel Hot And Sweaty?

Quick Answer

Many post-surgery bras use synthetic fabrics designed for compression and support. Some women prefer natural fibres because they feel cooler, softer and more breathable against sensitive skin. The best choice depends on your needs and stage of recovery.

What Our Customers Say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"The material is super soft and breathes which is really important for me in our humidity. It's so comfortable, I literally forget I'm wearing it."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Just amazing! Feels like I have nothing on, no pain on mastectomy scars and great support and so breathable too!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Most comfortable bra I've ever warn.. I didn't even need to purchase other bra's while going through my breast cancer as they are super soft super supportive and breathable"

Why Does My Bra Hurt Under My Arm?

Quick Answer

Many women experience tenderness under the arm after lymph node surgery or treatment. Bras with firm seams, narrow side panels or binding can be uncomfortable in this area. Some women find higher side coverage and smooth finishes more comfortable, particularly if they have ongoing sensitivity.

What Our Customers Say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Very comfortable along my mastectomy site, unlike most bras, even during summer with high humidity."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"have a scar reaching from under my arm to my shoulder blade. Every bra I have ever tried and I've tried a lot, rubbed me or the stitching aggravated my scar. Finally I've found my perfect bra. Thank you. x"

Why Does My Bra Gape After A Lumpectomy?

Quick Answer

A lumpectomy can change the size or shape of one breast, making moulded or rigid cups difficult to fit. Some women prefer bras with softer, more adaptable cups that accommodate natural differences in breast shape.

What Our Customers Say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I have uneven sized breasts due to breast cancer... I didn't notice the size difference nearly as much."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Also works very well in keeping them looking much the same size (which they are not following breast cancer surgery). Not sure how it does that but thanks very much for that."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I shared that I had breast cancer and have had no end of trouble getting a bra to not only fit but feel comfy; Evoe has solved both my concerns and even made my scarred and uneven chest look like I have even breast size!"

Why Are So Many Women Choosing EVOE Years After Breast Cancer?

We didn't start by asking,

"How do we make another bra?"

We started by listening.

Hundreds of women told us the same things.

"I don't want anything rubbing my scars."

"I don't want to sweat all day."

"I don't want straps digging into my shoulders."

"I don't want another medical-looking bra."

"I just want to feel comfortable again."

Those conversations continue to shape every EVOE bra we make. Women living with the long-term effects of breast cancer helped us understand what everyday comfort really means.

  • Soft, breathable bamboo fabric that's gentle on sensitive skin and scar tissue.
  • Smooth finishes designed to reduce rubbing on scar tissue.
  • High side coverage that many women find more comfortable around the underarm area.
  • A flexible waistband that adapts more gently to body changes.
  • Separate cups that accommodate natural differences in breast shape.
  • Prosthesis pockets for women who choose to wear a breast form.
  • Easy pull-on or step-into designs that many women find simpler than traditional back-fastening bras.
